Strictly Dancing for TYB
Greenhills Variety Group presents "Strictly Come Dancing" in The Red Cow Inn on Friday 09th Sep 2011. Over 18's Event. Local club members compete for a cash prize and perform with Greenhills finest dancers. Would love if you could come and support us!! Our very own Shane Keating is hoping to win a cash prize for Tallaght Youth Band along with his partner on the night Amanda! They have both been training really hard for this event and we wish them both all the luck in the world! The audience vote for their favourite couple SO WE NEED TO HAVE AS MUCH SUPPORT THERE ON THE NIGHT AS POSSIBLE!!

9/11 10th Anniversary Remembrance Concert
This September will be the 10th Anniversary of that tragic day when lives were changed forever in New York and the World. The Tallaght Youth Band along with the Dublin Fire Brigade Pipe Band, The Garda Band and Soprano singer Regina Nathan will take part in a concert to mark this anniversary. This event is the let the families and friends of victims of the attack know that now matter how long it has been or where in the world you are, that we will NEVER FORGET
A total of 411 emergency workers who responded to the scene died as they attempted to rescue people and fight fires.
The New York City ...Fire Department (FDNY) lost 341 firefighters and 2 FDNY paramedics. The New York City Police Department lost 23 officers. The Port Authority Police Department lost 37 officers,and 8 additional EMTs and paramedics from private EMS units were killed. 3 Ret. FDNY members who worked at the tower died in the collapse & 1 member of the New York City Fire Patrol who worked very close with the FDNY
The Dublin Fire Brigade Pipe Band along with The Tallaght Youth Band and The Gardai Band will be hosting a concert to mark this Anniversary. They will be joined by Soprano singer Regina Nathan.
Tickets for this event are only €10 and are on sale in the National Basketball Arena very shortly. If you would like any further information or would like tickets to be held for you on the night please email tallaghtyouthband@hotmail.

Tralee 2011...
Its that time of year again, only a few days left for our annual trip to the Kingdom for the Rose of Tralee Festival. Our members are all very excited as they count down the days. This is always a special weekend for TYB. Keep an eye out for updates and pictures.
Sonny Knowles concert a huge success
On Friday 12th August we took part in a fundraising concert in the Civic Theatre with the wonderful Sonny Knowles. The auditorium was packed and there was a great atmosphere as Sonny warmed up the crowd. Our Cadets then took to the stage and wowed the audience followed by our seniors who had them all singing and clapping along. The two bands then came together and received a standing ovation.
We would like to thank Sonny Knowles for giving up his time to do this concert for us (free of charge!) and also give a special thanks to Bridie Sweeney (former Mayor of Tallaght) for all her hard work in selling tickets for this event.
She's getting married in the morning...
All the members, committee and staff of the band would like to wish Caroline and Adrian the very best for their wedding tomorrow. We hope to see you both after out concert with Sonny Knowles. Hope you have a brilliant day and we will all be thinking of you.

Sonny Knowles has kindly agreed to perform a concert along with the Tallaght Youth Band to help the band raise funds for new instruments. Tickets are available from the box office in the Civic Theatre
Tickets are €20 or €15 for OAPs.
