St Patricks Day 2012
St Patricks Day 2012 was a very busy day for TYB. We battled through the rain and hail in Wexford Town and then on to Gorey for our two day time parades. The rain did not spoil the day for us though and we got a great reception in Wexford. We then made our way back to Tallaght for our annual performance in Tallaght Stadium and finished off the day with a very successful local pub crawl. This was one Paddys Day we wont forget in a hurry and all the members went home with a smile on their face! The band looked and sounded great and the committee were delighted with the display they put on all day long!
TYB Mobile Phone Appeal
Tallaght Youth Band are asking local businesses to help out with their mobile phone appeal. TYB are in desperate need of funds to buy much needed instruments. TYB Marching Vikings announce programme 'Lost'
We are delighted to announce our 2012 Senior programme 'Lost'. The Marching Vikings show explores the feelings of fear and loneliness associated with being lost, and also the escape to familiar ground.The programme will feature music by Amy Lee, Ben Moody, David Hodges of Evanescence, Roland Orzabal of Tears for Fears, and original music by Eoin O'Keeffe. We are delighted to be working again with our brilliant design team of Eoin O'Keeffe, Jon Bilby and Remco Groenewegen.
Following on from a successful runners-up position at the Irish Championships in 2011, the Marching Vikings will enter the DCE European Championships for the first time in 2012 and we are very much looking forward to the challenge.
Winterguard 2012
Winterguard 2012 took part on Sunday 19th of February in The Arena at Tallaght. TYB had two guards representing us. The Vikettes representing the Cadet section and Aurora in Open Class. Both guards performed brilliantly on the day and done us proud. The Vikettes won the Cadet section and Aurora came 2nd in a very competitive Open Class section. TYBs guards put in months of practice for this competition and it showed on the day. With the experience gained through Winterguard we are very much looking forward to the season ahead for both our guards.
