Ultimate Marcher...
Congratulations to John McEneaney who battled his way through some really tough competition this morning at practice to win todays Ultimate Marcher award! Was great fun as Chris Armstrong shouted directions with Megan Biddulph and Martin Fogarty keeping a close eye on proceedings!!
What a week for TYB...
What great week for TYB. It all started last Friday with a successful pub crawl followed by raffle of signed Dublin Jersey where we raised €600. On Sunday the band had a very positive AGM where we re-capped on the brilliant season of 2011. This was followed by our awards and party where we all had a great day. Monday brought us to Athlone for a brilliant fancy dress parade which can only be described ad hilarious! Tuesday night was the first new committee meeting where plans and ideas were flowing for the season ahead. Wednesday saw the band getting 2 high profile jobs which will bring in much needed funds. Thursday Alan Murray got the band a grant of €2,500! Now what more can one one band ask for in a week! Let's hope this momento keeps up for the coming year.
Halloween Parade
This Halloween TYB took a trip to Athlone to take part in their Annual Halloween Parade. Every single band member dressed up for this parade and it was a great day for all of us. From "The Green Giant" to "The Joker" all the costumes were fantastic and we were also awarded Best Band on Parade. This was one of the most enjoyable parades we have ever taken part in and we look forward to next year....
Annual Awards
TYB finished their season in style this weekend with their 2011 Awards and end of season party. There were lots of worthy winners in the caption awards and the overall awards were as follows: Best New-Comer 2011 Tom Murray, Cadet member of the Year Katelyn McCarthy, Senior Member of the Year Louise Dunne. The Awards were followed by an Old School Band Disco and it was another great day for TYB....
Radio Stars...
Last night (24th October 2011) we sent a team of ten to the studios for RTE Radio to take part in a quiz show which will be broadcast over Christmas. Kathryn Thomas was the presenter and our team represented Tallaght and TYB really well. The score in the end was a tie but we had a great night and it was worth battling through the floods of Dublin to get there...
